GBIC (Gigabit Interface Converter)

SFP ( Small Form Pluggable)
SFP - Modules act as an alternative to the traditional GBICs. They are also called mini - GBICs. SFP-Modules can be used both in Ethernet and in Fast Ethernet-Networks. SFPs are available with LC, MTRj and copper cut points.

XENPAK
Xenpack is a standard type of Fibre-Optic transceiver Module with 10 GB and is Ethernet Standard compatible. Many manufactures have used Xenpack as entrance in to the 10GB market.

XFP (Extended Small Form Pluggable)
XFP (10 GB Small form factor Pluggable) have been built as SFPs but are longer. Just as the SFP in compact form of the traditional GBICs are this way, the XFP is the compact form of the Xenpaks.

CWDM GBIC & SPP
At the CWDM GBICs several fibre connections are placed parallel. In this manner, several wavelengths (colours) are used that do not influence each other. It can be obtained in the traditional and in the SFP forms.
